EFEKTIVITAS KONSUMSI BUAH NAGA DAN PEMBERIAN TABLET Fe TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PADA IBU HAMIL DENGAN ANEMIA Kajian Literatur Tahun 2025
Abstract
Background: Anemia is a major nutritional issue frequently experienced by pregnant women in Indonesia. This condition can have serious impacts on the health of both the mother and the fetus, including the risk of bleeding, premature birth, low birth weight, and the risk of maternal and fetal death. Iron supplementation using Fe tablets is the common treatment, but natural nutritional interventions such as dragon fruit have been proven to help increase hemoglobin levels. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of dragon fruit consumption in combination with Fe tablets in increasing hemoglobin levels among anemic pregnant women through a literature review. Method: This study uses a literature review method on 9 national and international journal articles published in the period 2020-2025, obtained through the Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and ResearchGate databases. Articles were selected using the PRISMA Flow Chart and assessed for quality through critical appraisal, with the average results of the articles included in the high quality category. Data were analyzed descriptively to assess the effectiveness of the intervention Results: All articles show that dragon fruit consumption starting from the third trimester significantly increases hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia. Conclusion Consuming dragon fruit and giving iron tablets are effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia and can be used as an alternative supplement to iron supplements
